I started playing the piano at aged 7 and took up the organ at 15 which rapidly became my main instrument. After studying Music at the University of Exeter and attaining an ARCO diploma in organ, I took a PGCE in Secondary Music at Bath Spa University College and began a successful career as a music teacher then Director of Music in independent schools across the region. After 16 years of leading large and successful departments, I am now pursuing a freelance career and am in demand as an organist and pianist in Somerset. I play regularly at a number of churches for both services and special events, as well as accompanying students in competitions and exams. In 2026 I will be the official accompanist for the Brian Cresswell Music Festival (formerly Taunton Music Festival). In addition I am the Musical Director of the Mid Wessex Singers, a large and friendly choir based in Somerton and a Trustee of the Southern Sinfonia, a professional chamber orchestra.
